From Tinkering to Launch

ORCFLO began as a passion project in 2025, consuming our nights and weekends...becoming a real company in 2026. All this happened in an unplanned 'stealth mode'. This series explains the back-story of our journey.

By mid-2025, we had a clear picture of what we wanted.

A no-code tool for building agentic workflows. Something visual - drag an agent onto a canvas, give it instructions, connect it to other agents. The ability to use any model we chose: GPT, Claude, Gemini, whatever fit the task. Full transparency into what each step was doing and what it produced. The flexibility to tweak, tune, and iterate until we got the results we needed.

We Couldn't Find a Tool, So Decided to Build One

At first, it was purely a passion project. Nights and weekends, stolen hours after the day job wound down. We were tinkering more than engineering - trying one approach, hitting a wall, trying another. We didn't have a product roadmap. We had curiosity and passion in roughly equal measure.

Between the two founders, we had complementary skills. One of us brought decades of experience in business and technology leadership - enough technical background to understand the possibilities, enough business experience to know what problems actually needed solving. The other brought deep engineering expertise, the kind that comes from building systems at scale and knowing what "good" looks like from the inside. We challenged each other constantly. We learned from each other continuously.

As our prototype took shape, we started showing it to people. Friends first. Family. The reactions surprised us. They got it immediately. They didn't need lengthy explanations - they saw the interface, understood the concept, and started asking when they could use it. More importantly, they started telling us what they thought mattered most, helping us prioritize where to spend our limited time.

Could This Be More Than a Passion Project?

Encouraged, we widened the circle. Business acquaintances. A broader network of professionals who fit the profile we'd been designing for - tech-savvy but not technical, frustrated by the same limitations we'd encountered. The response was consistent. People wanted this. People had been waiting for this without knowing exactly what they were waiting for.

We started thinking seriously about infrastructure. If other people were going to use this, we needed reliability, security, and performance we couldn't deliver from laptops at home. We researched platforms, evaluated options, and ultimately chose an enterprise-grade cloud environment. It turns out that the same infrastructure that powers Fortune 500 companies is great for new companies with new ideas. We got world-class reliability and security at a price point we could afford as we started.

We migrated our work to the cloud and kept building. Weeks turned into months. Features took shape. Rough edges got smoothed. What started as a proof of concept evolved into something more substantial - not just a minimum viable product, but a tool we'd actually want to use ourselves. Strike that - a tool we ARE actually using...to build ORCFLO!

A Whisper of a Launch

After a couple of months of intensive development, we were ready. Quietly, we started revealing ORCFLO to the world. No fanfare, no launch event. Just a website, a tool, and an invitation to try it.

We built this because we couldn't find it anywhere else. We're betting that we're not the only ones who've been looking.
